Destiny became the Executive Director for Hope Services on January 1, 2017. She was formerly the development director for Hope Services and has several years of experience in development and nonprofit administration. She has a BA in Psychology and Bible from Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN. She loves spending time with her family and two children and has always had a passion for helping others, particularly women, through difficult circumstances.
DR. MARY POWELL
Mary is a board certified physician who specializes in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Mary has lived and practiced medicine in Roseburg since March 2011. Mary grew up in the Midwest but was very happy to move to Roseburg (her husband’s hometown). Dr. Powell attended Northwest University for her undergraduate degree, completed medical school at the University of Iowa and then relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for her four years of residency. In addition to medicine, Mary enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, puzzles and spending time with her husband Matthew.
At age 17, Diane experienced a crisis pregnancy and she personally understands the implications and emotions that ensue. Diane has a heart for women who are going through similar situations. Diane is recently retired from 37 years of hospital nursing, including 17 years at Mercy Medical Center. Diane feels it is a blessing to be able to volunteer for Hope Services and to be able to care for women who are especially in need of unconditional love and support during a very difficult time in their lives. Diane and her husband attend Melrose Community Church.
Nancy grew up in Corvallis, Oregon. She attended Emanuel Hospital School of Nursing in Portland, graduating with a Diploma of Nursing in 1975. Since then she has worked at several hospitals, always in obstetrics/labor and delivery working with new moms and babies. Nancy recently retired from Mercy Medical Center Family Birthplace after 29 years. Nancy is married and has three grown sons and one grandson. Nancy attends Lookingglass Community Church.
Gayla performs limited obstetric ultrasounds for our patients. Gayla has a background in full body sonography and x-ray and has worked in the field for the last 26 years. She has worked with private doctors, in medical centers, and has done hands-on training for students in cardiovascular ultrasound studies. Originally from Utah, Gayla joins us as a new Oregon transplant. She and her husband have retired to the beautiful Camas Valley area.
Front Office Manager
Our Front Office Manager, Patty, joined us after being a stay-at-home mom for 20 years. She brings a heart for women to the organization and is the first person our patients have contact with as they enter the clinic. She has many years of experience in volunteer work including post-abortion counseling at the Colorado Springs Pregnancy Center. She has served as the graphic design manager at her church and brings her skills to Hope Services in designing letters and publications.
Sarah is the new Development Director for Hope Services. She has several years of marketing and resource development experience in the nonprofit sector and is excited to bring those skills to help grow and advance the programs at Hope Services. Sarah especially enjoys event planning and volunteering through service clubs and her home church. She also loves spending time with her husband and two children.
Linda is compassionate, caring and very skilled at connecting with patients. She has worked in the education field for many years as an administrator for online high school diploma classes through Umpqua Community College. Linda has worked closely with at-risk young adults pursuing their GED. She and her husband are longtime residents of Roseburg and have a heart for our community.
Surrendering the Secret Assistant
Kathy serves as our Administrative Assistant and brings tremendous skills and attention to detail in her work with our safety and compliance programs. Kathy served as Correspondence Manager for Answers with Bayless Conley Television Ministry, and was Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and Board of the Los Alamitos Unified School District in California. Kathy also served as Director of Avenues of Light Crisis Pregnancy center in the late 80’s. Kathy has a heart for women facing crisis pregnancy situations as she experienced a time in her life where she was considering abortion but instead made a choice for life for her daughter. Kathy attends Garden Valley Church.
